CONTEMPORARY RELAXATION ON THE BANKS OF SHANNON
Portfolio
At the heart of what is perhaps the wildest and most fascinating region in all of Ireland, Limerick is one of the cities that has been most able to take advantage of the incredible growth of the Irish economy in the 2000s. In the city center, overlooking the Shannon, there is the Absolute Hotel, an example of contemporary architecture perfectly linked to the history of the city.
It was born on the site of an ancient Franciscan monastery and is surrounded by works of high artistic value such as King John’s Castle. The Absolute Hotel in Limerick is one of the best hotels in Ireland, a 4-star hotel characterized by an intelligent mix of styles and the highest standards of comfort and services.
For the realization of the furnishings of the new Absolute Hotel, we have chosen and supplied all the coverings, floors and furnishing complements; the result is a metropolitan environment characterized by large stoneware slabs, wooden panels, design furniture and special attention to detail.
One of the leitmotives followed was the use of bricks with dark colors and irregular surfaces, which well contextualize the building in the Irish architectural tradition. For the bathrooms we opted for soft beige tones, perfectly rendered by the large stoneware tiles, used both for the walls and for the floors; the metal and crystal decorations recall the effect of the steel and glass accessories. In the hotel spa, however, mosaics, small formats and wood dominate.
This mix creates a relaxing environment, with natural colors enhanced by a soft light and minimal style. The end result is the most modern one can conceive, respecting tradition: no style characterizes the hotel in a marked way, but an elegant sobriety makes it absolutely – it is appropriate to say it – immune to the passing of fashions .
